Transforming Patient Engagement with Technology: A Winning Partnership

9th December 2024

Netcall and University Hospitals Sussex Foundation Trust Celebrate Award Win at Health Tech Awards.

Netcall, in collaboration with University Hospitals Sussex Foundation Trust and e18 Innovation, was honoured with the Partnership of the Year award at the Health Tech Awards 2024 on 10th October. This recognition underscores the innovative efforts of the organisations in supporting NHS Trusts in enhancing patient care through technology.

The award-winning partnership focused on implementing Netcall’s Waiting List Validation solution. This cutting-edge system automates the process of contacting patients who are waiting for their first appointment and validates the need for that appointment easily, without the need for an administrative army. This significantly improves operational efficiency and patient communication, setting a new standard for NHS Trusts.

Utilising a multi-channel approach, reminders are sent via SMS, email and letters equipped with QR codes for easy response. Intelligent automation, powered by e18 Innovation, manages patient replies and ensures that all data is seamlessly integrated back into the Trust’s patient administration system.

Transformative approach provides remarkable results

The results have been remarkable. The initiative achieved over an 80% response rate from patients and successfully removed more than 13% of individuals who no longer wished to remain on the waiting lists. This transformative approach has saved the trust over 266 hours per week in manual data entry, allowing staff to focus more on patient care.
